Perm participated in the All-Russian Association for the Development of Local Self-Government exhibition in Moscow.

The photo exhibition "Urban Evolution. 35 Years of Development" opened in Moscow, dedicated to the 35th anniversary of the Union of Russian Cities. The exhibition, which will run until July 31, showcases the achievements of 21 active member cities of the Union, including Perm.

The exhibition features important urban infrastructure projects in the capital of the Kama region: the Green Ring project, the city esplanade, and architectural and artistic lighting.

The large-scale reconstruction of the city esplanade was based on the idea of ​​creating a multifunctional, transformable space. Today, it is a flexible venue that changes depending on the season, weekdays, and holidays. Concerts, festivals, and sporting events are held here for residents and visitors of the regional capital.

Another flagship project being implemented in Perm is the "Green Ring." For the comfort of residents, it features convenient navigation, children's playgrounds, sports areas, observation areas, dog walking areas, modern video surveillance systems, and 11 rain gardens. The project also includes four themed visitor centers, which promote environmental education in Perm.
The city's visual identity has received federal recognition thanks to the architectural and artistic lighting of buildings on Komsomolsky Prospekt. In 2024, this project was named best at the Eurasian Golden Photon Award. Thanks to the automated lighting control system of the Perm region's capital, the lighting design operates in various scenarios, highlighting the beauty of the historic façades, administrative buildings, and residential buildings in the evening.

The photo exhibition was organized by the Union of Russian Cities with the support of the Moscow Government, the Civic Chamber of the Russian Federation, and the All-Russian Association for the Development of Local Self-Government. The exhibition is timed to coincide with the 35th anniversary of the organization, founded in 1991 and today uniting 107 municipalities.

The exhibition is more than just a collection of photographs; it is a visual chronicle of the 35-year journey of Russian municipalities. Each image is a page in history, capturing how approaches to urban development have radically transformed.

The exhibition will be open to the public from July 2 to 31 at 28 Arbat Street, Moscow. Visitors will see how the efforts of local communities and the support of regional and federal programs transform cities into comfortable and modern spaces.
